Kirsten Oleson

Kirsten Oleson is a Professor of Ecological Economics with the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. She is an interdisciplinary sustainability scientist, who employs tools from economics, social science, ecology, and decision analysis to ensure that the value of nature is captured in national, state, and community decision-making. She earned a PhD from Stanfordʻs Interdisciplinary Program in Environment and Resources, an MS from Imperial College London in Applied Environmental Economics, an Ir from the Technical University of Delft in Civil and Environmental Engineering, and a BS from University of Virginia in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
